The deadline for Brandon Mullins Leadership award has been extended to July 1, 2018. If you believe that you have observed exemplary leadership from a player, please complete the form attached and get it to Chari Fireline (  Nominations can be made anonymous to the player if requested.

The Owensboro Ice Foundation provides a Memorial Scholarship in Memory of SPC Mullins who played for the Owensboro Hockey League throughout his high school career.  Private donations will provide $1000 annually to be awarded in three scholarships: one $500 and two $250 scholarships based on outstanding leadership and sportsmanship.

Award Recipients received an award as listed above to help with fees for the upcoming season, a patch for their hockey jersey, and recognition on the Brandon Mullins Memorial Plaque.

Anyone can nominate a player for this prestigious award.  Please feel free to submit nominations for a deserving player using the form attached and give to Chari Fireline (  Nominations should include the players name and reasons for nomination. Brandon’s parents Tom & Cathy Mullins will be provided the nominations to review for selection. This will be the process each year going forward, while the award remains in place.

SPC Mullins was killed on August 25, 2011 in Afghanistan while serving Operation Enduring Freedom when his unit was attacked by an IED.

Please talk with your child about the sacrifice Brandon made for his country and how this award keeps his memory alive.  Our youth players should understand that to be nominated for this award, they should consistently throughout the season display leadership, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and always be respectful to other players, coaches, and officials.
